BREAKING: Active Shooter On The Loose At Univ. Of Alabama – Hostages Situation Underway

A hostage situation is underway at a University of Alabama credit union after a gunman took over the building, igniting a standoff with a SWAT team and armed police in the city of Tuscaloosa.

Daily Mail reported that the gunman barged into the credit union at around 8:30am and he has held hostages there for the last few hours. Officials with the FBI said that hostage negotiators are at the scene, and that it is not known how many hostages the gunman has at this time.

Tuscaloosa police Lt. Teena Richardson said that the gunman’s motive is unclear at this time, only saying that he took employees at the bank hostage right as they were opening for the day.
