Former Democratic Attorney General, Kathleen Kane, illegally disclosed details of a grand jury investigation in order to embarrass her political rival. She was sentenced to 10-23 months in federal prison.
She was also sentenced to 8 years of probation. Judge Wendy Demchick-Alloy, said the lengthy probation period is necessary due to Kane’s obvious motivation to commit the crime – her ego.
She accused the former attorney general of adopting an “off with your heads” mentality as she ran the state’s top law enforcement agency, and called Kane a political “neophyte” who failed to make the transition from campaigner to public servant after she took office.
“THIS CASE IS ABOUT RETALIATION AND REVENGE AGAINST PERCEIVED ENEMIES WHO THIS DEFENDANT … FELT HAD EMBARRASSED HER IN THE PRESS.”
Some of Kane’s employees have come forward to comment on her other behaviors in office. Erik Olsen, former Chief Deputy Attorney General under Kane, claims she created a “terror zone” in the office via “a pattern of systemic firings and Nixonian espionage.”
That’s the problem with these corrupt government officials, whether it be someone at the top, like Hillary Clinton, or even a minor-leaguer like Kathleen Kane – they think they are too clever to be caught, until they finally are.
