The White House has descended into chaos this week as staffers struggle to prepare for the upcoming moving day that will see them only have six hours to move Barack Obama’s family out of the home, and then to move Donald Trump’s family in.
Daily Mail reported that while Trump is giving his inauguration speech on January 20, nearly 100 staffers will be frantically trying to prepare the White House mansion for the Trump family. At around 10:30 that morning, staffers will start moving the Obama family’s personal belongings into waiting trucks. They will then immediately move the Trump family’s things inside the home.
“It’s more like organized chaos,” Chief White House usher Stephen Rochon admitted to CNN. “We have one truck at the South Lawn that belongs to the outgoing president and first family facing south, and the incoming truck facing north toward the White House is on the east side of the south grounds.”
The chaos will see staffers putting finishing touches on the dining rooms in the 132-room mansion while the kitchen staff makes the new first family a snack before the inauguration ball.
While the first family can make any changes they like to the second and third floors of the White House, Trump has promised that he won’t be making any radical changes to the home.
“It’s a very special place,” he said. “I’m going to be working. I’m not going to be decorating.”
