Donald Trump’s inner circle was thrown into chaos this weekend when Jason Miller, the president-elect’s newly-named White House communications director, after a member of the transition team posted cryptic tweets suggesting that he is cheating on his wife.
New York Daily News reported that Miller announced that he will not be joining the Trump administration just two days after he was named communications director. In his statement, Miller claimed he turned down the job so that he can spend more time with his family.
“It’s clear they need to be my top priority right now, and this is not the time to start a new job as demanding as White House communications director,” said Miller, whose wife is expecting their second child.
This came after AJ Delgado, a senior advisor in Trump’s transition team, posted tweets in which she suggested that Miller was in the middle of a sex scandal.
“Congratulations to the baby-daddy on being named WH Comms Director!” she wrote in one now-deleted tweet.
“The 2016 version of John Edwards,” she wrote in another, referring to the former Democratic senator who had a child with his mistress while his wife was dying of cancer.
Delgado, a Miami lawyer who became one of Trump’s most outspoken surrogates during his campaign, had previously called on Miller to resign.
“When people need to resign graciously and refuse to, it’s a bit…spooky,” she tweeted.
When asked who she was referring to, Delgado said, “Jason Miller. Who needed to resign…yesterday.”
Delgado has since deleted her Twitter account.
This isn’t the first time Delgado and Miller have been at the center of a scandal. They were reportedly two of the three senior Trump advisors who spent the night before the third and final presidential debate partying at a Las Vegas strip club.
