The House Intelligence Committee has struck a Deep State nerve with its August 24 request that the FBI and the Department of Justice produce documentation pertaining to whether they used the discredited ‘Russian dossier’ to launch the current score of investigations into suggested collusion between President Trump and the former Soviet nation.
The Daily Caller interviewed committee member Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC), a former prosecutor and legal bloodhound, about the issue.
The August request for information was IGNORED by both agencies and a new deadline of September 14 was given, but this too will most likely pass with no response. Democrats on the committee have also been reticent about pushing the DOJ and the Bureau about the dossier.
Gowdy has grown frustrated with the obstructionism telling the Caller, “’For the life of me I don’t understand why they are focused on this,’ Gowdy says of the Democratic pushback, ‘unless they are fearful that the bureau did rely on a piece of fiction.’”
The Establishment went out of its way to locate and pay for the fake news documents, compiled by a former MI5 spy with an agenda who was working for Fusion GPS, an opposition research firm made up of Wall Street Journal liberals.
Where the dossier came from is not of primary concern for Gowdy.
“I don’t need to know how you got the information,” Gowdy stated, “just tell me how you either sought to corroborate it, how you vetted it.”
It is the vetting issue that the Deep State is fighting to hide.
